Winnetou TM
Karl May/ WINNETOU sold more than 200 million books worldwide, translated into over 30 languages, with 100 million copies sold in Germany alone. Main Characters: Winnetou and Shatterhand
May's most popular works are the publications of WInnetou I, Winnetou II and WInnetou III and the characters that fill them.
These books talk about the lives and interactions of two young men: the young fictional "Shatterhand",
an immigrant to the American West in the 1850's, in the era of gunslingers, horse rustlers and wild indian native tribes. In those innocent years before Custer and the battle of "Wounded Knee",
Shatterhand heads of to St. Louis where he finds his way west by hooking up with a railroad surveying team.
"Winnetou" is a young Apache Chief, raised and educated by the famous Apache medicine man
"Klekhi-Petra", a European who lived with the Apache tribe for more than 30 years.
Adventure leads to adventure and the creation of a very special bond between two heroes,
Shatterhand and Winnetou. Their very first encounter, as enemies, soon evolves into a unique and exceptional friendship and they become blood brothers and decide to fight side by side against the
approaching evil in the new found West.
The action filled stories take the reader through many territories of the beautiful old American Southwest with a wonderful sense of humor and an engaging touch of romance.
The "Legend of Winnetou" is a 21st century film project based on the mega hit film series in the 1960's Europe, and allows not only for a fantastic project, but a great investment opportunity in a unique franchise.
